What is Ditto?

In its natural state, Ditto is a light purple Pokemon showing a slight smile. Ditto is a normal-type Pokemon that can transform into other Pokemon. With this being said, Ditto is currently disguised as other Pokemon in the wild. 

Ditto is not easy to find, it's rather difficult to pinpoint where one is. Ditto is special because in Spring of 2018 Pokemon GO added a Special Research called "Mythical Discovery" where there are 8 tasks. In the 5th task you have to catch a Ditto. After you complete all 8 tasks you can have a shot at catching the mythical Pokemon Mew. So, catching a Ditto is very pivotal in this research and you will need to eventually catch one. 

Knowing which Pokemon are currently being disguised as Ditto is essential to know. If you catch one of these Pokemon below, it might turn into a Ditto. (As of August 2020)
